Workouts and healthy body are important if you are heavy, Full Figured girl and can change the way you feel about yourself, improve the healthiness and generally living more comfortable. Here’s how I do it:
Plus size workout clothes:
Doing something as simple as buying a cute new singlet to wear to the gym can vastly increase your interest in going there. I never wear T-shirts outside of the gym, so I love to use them to reflect my interest in a way that I wouldn’t do otherwise. Investing in a good pair of shoes or some cute plus size running shorts can boost your mood. Online stores are full of workout clothes for plus size girls nowadays, so it is easy to find everything you need, like workout pants, tops or any plus size workout gear.
Music plays a big key in my workout routine. I choose music that gets my blood pumping. This never fails to increase my motivation for the workout. I have multiple playlists, including a motivation playlist, a pop playlist and a rock playlist, to name a few. I listen to whatever my mood desires!
I’ve heard of lots of plus size girls that do many different workouts to stay in shape. Pilates is always delicate like strength training. Or simply walking is a good choice too. Some ladies love to dance, and some love to workout through aqua jogging. Personally, I purchased a very cheap gym membership at a non-so glamorous gym. Strength training can correct some issues that may arise from carrying extra weight and increase your metabolism. This lets me get in cardio 2 – 3 times a week. I love the treadmill, as you get maximum calorie burn for very little body impact.
At the gym:
As far as what I actually do while I am at the gym, it’s quite simple – I work on my problem areas. As a classic curvy body lover, I admire how soft and supple the female body can be. Because of this, I don’t spend too much time toning up. I have an hourglass figure, so instead of having one particular problem area, mine tends to be quiet even. I do a little head-to-toe toning session every other time I go to the gym. I use the girly machines section of my gym to do this. There’s an inner and outer thigh machine, a top and a bottom thigh machine, a crunch machine in the tummy area, a triceps and biceps machine, and a back machine. I do all of these down the line, spending a few minutes on each.
Mentally speaking, it’s important to remember not to be too hard on yourself. Life can throw curveballs at you at any moment, and if you have to skip a workout session because of it, move on.
If you are too tired:
You are a mother of two and spend a majority of your day running after your little ones, and you end up too exhausted to go to the gym that night, don’t worry about it. Go tomorrow. You’ve already gotten a workout anyway. If you’re working so hard for a promotion that you’re too tired to go to the gym that day, forget about it. Ease up on the chocolate mousse for dessert and go when your schedule allows.
Overall, in this fitness and the diet-obsessed corporate world, it’s easy to feel guilty and think that you must work very hard to stay in shape. This isn’t true. Humans started out by being naturally active. Play more with your kids. Go for a walk with your husband. Go for a jog with a friend on your lunch break. Pop on cardio tape. Dance to your favorite girly playlist after a stressful day at work. All of these things are physical. Workout for plus size girl or woman is optional. Eat healthier food than junk food and be more active than stagnant.
