Ashley Graham one of the most famous models from plus size fashion industry stands up against sexualisation curvier girls in the fashion and entertainment businesses.
Graham 28, after debuted her own fashion line on the catwalk during New York fashion week season 16, caught the attention around the globe and appeared in prestigious magazines and TV shows.
-Plus-size models are being sexualised and automatically typecast as sexy and given jobs thinner models would not be expected to do. – Explained Ashley – If I was cast in a role in a movie, I know without a shadow of a doubt that I would be the sexy girl, I would have a sex scene, I would probably have to show a little nipple. That would just be the case, because of the way my body is. – Said the runway model.
The fashion industry is changing because at the beginning of her career was faced adversity. She thinks that big breasts and fuller hips always were a definition of sexy women. We can see that in the fashion industry where a lingerie model is usually a full figured woman. Thinner models are just not suitable.
Current youngsters have more of a choice of celebrities with a curvier body to look up to, it was not the case for her.
